Course Content

Introduction to the SAP MM integrated procurement case study. Learn the end-to-end procurement process flow, understand the Global Bike (GBI) company model, and familiarize yourself with SAP S/4HANA Fiori 3.0 navigation before executing the 24-step case study.

Create a new Vendor (supplier) master record with all required organizational data, company code, and purchasing organization assignments in SAP S/4HANA.

Create a new Material master record with appropriate material type, valuation class, and purchasing details using SAP Fiori 3.0.

Extend the material master by adding a purchasing info record and extending it to additional organizational levels (plant and storage location).

Check the current stock situation using the stock overview transaction to see unrestricted-use stock quantities before procurement activities begin.

Create an internal Purchase Requisition to formally request procurement of materials, initiating the external procurement process.

Perform a stock management action to review and adjust inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts before proceeding with external procurement steps.

Send Requests for Quotation (RFQ) to multiple vendors to solicit competitive pricing for the required materials.

Enter the received quotation prices from vendors into the SAP system to enable formal vendor comparison and bid evaluation.

Perform price-based bid evaluation to compare vendor quotations side-by-side and select the most cost-effective offer.

Create a formal Purchase Order referencing the RFQ, committing to the selected vendor with agreed terms, quantities, and delivery requirements.

Review and verify the created purchase order in detail — confirm line items, pricing, quantities, and vendor information before goods delivery.

Post the first Goods Receipt (GR) against the Purchase Order when the first batch of materials arrives from the vendor.

Check the updated stock overview after the Goods Receipt to verify the inventory increase and confirm materials are now available in the system.

Review the financial accounting document automatically generated by the GR posting to understand the double-entry impact on inventory and GR/IR accounts.

Post the first supplier invoice using the Logistics Invoice Verification (LIV) process, matching it against the Purchase Order and Goods Receipt.

Review and verify the posted supplier invoice document, checking the line items, tax amounts, and payment terms against the original purchase order.

Display the complete document flow showing all linked procurement documents — from Purchase Order through Goods Receipt to the Supplier Invoice.

Post a second Goods Receipt for the remaining PO quantity when the second delivery arrives, simulating a real partial-delivery procurement scenario.

Create and post the second supplier invoice corresponding to the second goods delivery, completing the two-phase invoice verification process.

Review the updated document flow now showing both goods receipts and both invoices linked to the original purchase order.

Post the outgoing payment to the supplier to clear the open invoice items and settle the procurement liability in Accounts Payable.

Display the vendor account balance to verify the payment has been applied and the outstanding liability is now cleared to zero.

Analyse the financial accounts to confirm complete settlement — review the GR/IR clearing account, inventory account, and vendor account for the full procurement cycle.

Apply everything you have learned in an independent MM Challenge exercise. Execute a complete procurement process from scratch without step-by-step guidance to validate your understanding of the SAP MM integrated procurement workflow.
